Iron Man desk lamp
My desk at home was looking a bit bland with all of the empty desk space that I had. I have always been a big fan of Marvel and especially Iron man and so I thought that I would build an interactive desk lamp!
First was the programming of the lights and for this I wanted to have 4 different states that changed in some way with a timer.
This was challenging but fun and it was a great learning experience. Next I grabbed a 3d model in thingaverse and It was too big to fit on the printer and so I cut it up in fusion360 and printed everything out. I then spray painted it and hot glued it together. This was the final product.
I then needed to figure out a way to add a button onto the helmet and so I drilled a hole in the ear and cut out a foamcore piece that I fed the button through and glued it to the inside of the ear.
I then made a contraption for the LED's to fit in the eyes by gluing a piece of foamcore that I bent to fit the inside of the helmet and stuck LED's to it.
I then drilled a hole in the back and I fed the wires through the back of the helmet.
From there I needed something to be able to hide the arduino and wires. I did that by laser cutting a box and putting the arduino inside.
I then added a back with the power plug coming out of it and finally added wax paper to the eyes and my project was done.
